Are all teenagers bad?

Everyone has an opinion on teenagers, good and bad. Even teenagers themselves have opinions on each other. The media often focus on the negative views of teenagers. However is their view true to all teenagers? Are we all the way the media percieves us. Many people are under the impression that teenagers are thugs, who drink all the time on street corners and are agressive. For some teenagers this would be a fair judgement. Many teenagers of this generation do spend much of their time drinking and being disrespectful. However i dont believe this is true of all teenagers. But most people have this opinion due to what they are told from the media who often focus on this stereotype. Being a teenager myself i do admit that i spend some of the time drinking in houses and relaxing with friends but i also enjoy attending gigs and listening to good music and watching good TV. So i dont believe that all teenagers should be given this stereotype.
Many teenagers gain achievements at college and school or other organisations. They also spend their free time going too gigs and relaxing with friends and many attend organisations too better themselves. However there are never many stories about these types of teenager but more stories on the negative side. As a teenager this annoys me because i believe these kinds of stories in the media encourage younger people too behave this way. Many teenagers may believe that if they are being stereotyped that way then why not act that way. I believe that many adults can be just as disrespectful as young people and maybe this should be given more media coverage.
Overall i dont believe that all teenagers are bad and it is unfair of the media too focus on this aspect rather than the more positive stories.

  1. I totally agree with you the only way good, constructive organistaions like the Boys Brigade are acknowledged is through is ten pages through a small, local newspaper. The Boys Brigade has been a big influence in my life, most of my mates are from the Boys Brigade growing up in that social enviroment with them has given me the chance to make alot of friends over the years, it has taught me discipline and how to work well as a part of the team. It has given me the chance to work for and achieve awards such as the Queens Badge and soon the Gold Duke Of Edinburgh award. Because of the Boys Brigade I have been able to go hiking, camping and various different sports and to achieve awards at these sports. I am very thankful for the Boys Brigade and really appreciated my time there as a boy and appreciating my time there working towards becoming an officer. Being lucky enough to have such a briliant experience I would urge any boy to join and to discover what we the Boys Brigade are all about.
Good men and women work and have worked large parts of their lives to benefit the ignorant British society.
