college :)

I am at Adam Smith College studying NC Media Production. I started the course in september of last year.

The best part about the course for me has been radio. Originally when i came into the course i had the idea of doing journalism. However as i progressed further i realised radio was for me. It was just very fun and enjoyable. I never came into the class thinking ohh noo!!.

My least favourite part of the course was probably Multimedia. This is because i really dont like all the technical stuff that this involves and i found myself getting bored and didnt enjoy this part.

Many people in the class didnt like media analysis but i didnt mind it as much because  i had experience doing this in intermediate 2 media studies and found this reasonably easy.

I have also met alot of really good people. I have no problems with all of them and are very easy to talk too.

Overall i think the course is very good as it gives the chance to experience everything. It makes decisions easier about what to do in the media career. I have really enjoyed this year and i am looking forward to HND radio for the next two years

Kittys review

This blog is a review on Kittys Nightclub. Kittys nightclub is in Kirkcaldy and has been described as the best place to go in the Kirkcaldy area.

I go to Kittys about once or twice a month. I usually tend to go when i have money which isnt very often or on special occations.

In my opinion the venue has a great atmosphere but is really small. Because the venue is so small it can make it difficult to move let alone dance. It can also be quite stuffy because it is a small venue and would benifit from being a bit bigger in size. Another bad point about kittys is that the only place to go outside is the smoking bit and if you arent a smoker this isnt the best.

I think the student night on a thursday night is a very good idea. It gives students the chance to let thier hair down and have a good time. However it would be benifitial to have it on another day because some people have college and work the next day. However it is still a very good idea to have this kind of night.

I have never really had a bad experience in kittys. However i have had quite alot of drink spilt on me and lost my friends a few times but its okay i always found them again. So i havent really ever had a bad experience.

I think the special guest appearances on a saturday are a good idea because it gives the kirkcaldy people a chance to meet famous celebrities. However i must admit that i dont really know half the people that have went. But it is a really good idea. It adds to the good atmosphere.

I would like to see Mcfly appear in Kittys or take that or kings of leon. But ive recently been thinking that ollie from made in chelsea would be awesome.

I feel these nights create a bigger impact and good profit because people come to these events and there are bigger crowds.

Football - The stupid sport

There really is no point in football. just sweaty men running back and forth a pitch kicking a ball. They can do that in the local park for goodness sake. I dont see why grown men spend thier lives bothering about this sport.

The only good thing is that they are reasonably good looking(some of them). They dont deserve the amount of money they get paid and are often cheating on their wives with other people. They are quite nasty.

So basically in conclusion football is rubbish and their is no point in wastiong our times on it. :) xxxx

Volcanic ash cloud

The icelandic volcano has gone off again. Now normally this is big news but for me its massive. Im supposed to be going to bulgaria in three weeks. Im hoping for the best but i have my doubts. It has been announced today that some UK flights have been cancelled. People have been stranded in Edinburgh airport overnight as flight chaps begins. This is where im flying from so im a bit worried to say the least. Im hoping for the best but that blooming ash cloud better bugger off.

I just hope i get there and back ok. I might get there but i might not get back. Ill be stuck in bulgaria and i would have no idea for how long. Ill have ran out of money by that time because lets face it im 18 and will have spent it all. Ill need an emergency fund just in case.

Not only that but what if the plane people think the cloud is gone, i get on the plane and then the ash appears and my plane falls down into the sea. I CANT SWIM!!!!!. My friends will need to drag me along the freezing water. ill be flapping about like a fish!!!!.

Im just preparing for the worst but hopefully i dont end up in the sea and instead end up in bulgaria and then back in my house safe and sound.... i hope anyway

The end of the world... again

Well Saturday 21st May 2011 was doomsday... supposedly. The world was going to end aat six oclock on this day according to some bible studier. Well im still here and writing this blog so clearly that didnt happen.

Now this same man has said that the new doomsday is in five months in october. Now im sorry to say but i really dont believe that will happen. There are always new dates being made for the end of the world and each time it doesnt happen. This man has obviously said that because he is a bit embarressed by the fact he was wrong. he said that there was an error in interpertation rather than fact. This is not the first time he has predicted wrongly. He did this in 1994 and was wrong at this time aswell. So it is already proven that he doesnt have a good track record with these predictions.

I personally believe people shouldnt worry about this possible date. I believe it will be like alll the other predictions and not end anytime soon. I think the predictor should just give up and leave it alone. He is only making it worse for himself by making these daft predictions. So dont panic everyone you will be fine.

Lady Gaga- Losing popularity

This blog is about Lady GaGa and her popularity. Her new album born this way isnt even out yet but is already dividing people. Some have praised the album and others have critisiced. Lady GaGa released her first album in 2008. She recieved a very positive response from people and became very famous achieving the most powerful celebrity in the world. She took this title from Oprah Winfrey. It is now 2011 and it can be said that many of her fans have been waiting years for new material. They will get this chance on Monday.

However there have been reviews already. Both good and bad. Some people have felt that this album was worth the wait and others have felt let down. Here is a list of some of these reviews

I have never heard the album before but i have to say that im really looking forward to it and hope that im not dissapointed. However recently its not just her album that recieved mixed reviews. She recently played Radio 1's big weekend in the headline slot. Some thought she put on an incredible performance and others were dissapointed in her efforts. The fact her set was late didnt help the audience members. There have many comments on twitter referring to this but others saying she was the highlight of the weekend. Here are some reviews

Its quite clear that Lady GaGa is still very popular and achieving worldwide success but there are some critics and there always will be. She will never please everyone. However somehow i dont think she will bother as she is twenty five years old and already raking in millions. I certainly  wouldnt mind being in her position. pretty impressive

Rihanna- a bad influence?

This blog is about the singer Rihanna and whether or not she is a bad influence.

Rihanna is a pop singer and is very very popular right now. She has a wide range for an audience. These include young teenagers and men(of course!!). However many people have different opinions on whether or not she is a good or bad influence. Her songs sometimes contain material which some people have thought was innapropriate. She also tends to wear very little clothes, even in the winter. She will catch a cold doing that.

Rihanna has a massive audience worldwide who she must continue to please. But does she really need to do it by taking her clothes off. Her talent is supposed to be singing so thats what she should do... sing. Now im sure some people dont have a problem with her wearing very little clothes( my boyfriend in particular). But is this really the way she should behave?

She also has alot of younger fans. I dont think this is the impression she should be giving off to her younger fans who admire her and in some cases want to be like her. But is it really her fault?

The media have a big part in the portrayal of someone this famous. Many female singers have to dress and behave this way as it is what is expected of them. Many newspapers critisise those who are not as good looking and encourage many singers and actresses who are attractive to wear very little clothes because this helps their paper sell more. This could be the reason rihanna is dressed like this. She may also feel pressure from the media.


In my opinion Rihanna should tone it down a little because of the young children who are fans of her. She also has a good enough talent to get away with just using her voice. There is no need for her to wear hardly any clothes all the time.
