Take That

This blog is about take that. I couldnt really think of anything else to write so i have decided to write about take that. Mostly because i am seeing them for the second time in June, two days after Bulgaria(yayyy!!!).

The funny thing about me being a fan of take that is that i wasnt always a fan of them. I used to think they were to cheesy but now i must admit i love them to bits. They have grown up so much and have great songs now.

The first time i saw them live was on the 21st june 2009. This was known as thier circus tour. everyone in my family seemed to find it funny that i was going to see a band that i used to hate. I didnt care i was just happy to see them all particularly mark owen. I have to admit he is my favourite he is so cute.

I went with my friend Sarah. Because Sarah had a rugby competition that day i went too watch her play first and then headed to take that on a lovely journey with her and her dad. On the way there we listened to take that and were getting more and more exited after every mile.

When we got there we were shown to our seats. It was at that point that i recieved a phone call from my friends hayley and caroline who were down at the front of the b stage. I must admit it took me quite a while to actually find them. Its also quite funny how many strange looks you get when you stand out of your chair and start waving like a looney just so they see you.

The best support act of the night had to be the script. I was already a fan of them anyway so was really looking forward to seeing them. I have to admit that Sarah is a massive fan of them so was probably much more exited than me. In fact she was probably much more exited for the script than take that. As much as i was enjoying the experience i did find myself getting annoyed. The reason for this was because noone was up doing anything not even clapping. It was just me and sarah dancing around. If we didnt look like loons before then we certainly did now.

It was then time for take that. But just about five minutes before they were due to come on i found myself suddenly desperate for the toilet. So me and Sarah made our way there to find a mile long que. It was not good everyone decided to go at the same time!!.

After i got back to my seat it had just started. There was ballons everywhere and acrobats. There was a real circus theme unsurprisingly. After about 10 minutes Take That finally came out of the ballons. They then sang greatest day. After that they sang hello whilst performing on coloured ladders.

After performing these two songs they went on too perform some of thier older hits. These included Pray, a million love songs and back for good. Most of the older audience members enjoyed this part of the show as it took them back to their youth. I was just lucky that i had always sort of liked those songs anyway. During the song back for good rain came up from the stage and completely soaked all the members in the front row. This brought back alot of memories from the video to this song. Hayley was one of the members in the front row and i couldnt help but laugh at her. She probably should have brought an umberella.

They then performed a song called the garden which i really enjoyed mostly because mark owen has lead vocals and he is really cute. During this song the band were in an elephant which walked along the middle from the main stage to the Bstage. This was really cool and must have cost a fortune to make as it was a lifesize elephant.

The next two songs were again of mark owen on lead vocals. I might be slightly biased but these were the best parts of the evening. The two songs were Shine and Up all night. The song shine was made to look like the same theme as the video. Throughout the song there was a big production with instruments and dancers. It was all glamourous. The song up all night was a contrast to this and was performed with just the band singign with thier instruments. Many of the newer fans were shocked to see that the members of the band werent just pop singers and dancers but could actually perform with just instruments and no special effects. The next few songs went like this too. These were wooden boat and how did it come to this. These two songs were Jason's solo of the evening.

Gary Barlow then performed his solo of the evening. From the cheers from the crowd it was very obvious that he is one of the favourites of the band. He performed his songs using his piano which he is known for. The best part about this section was that his voice showed through really well and despite the songs not being uptempo they were still very entertaining.

Howard was the last member to perform his solo. He sang the song what is love. During this song all the members of the band dressed themselves up as clowns. They were supposed to remain depressed for the song. I didnt enjoy this part so much as i hate clowns with a passion. This is mostly because i have a really bad phobia of them. the fact that they were depressed clowns was even worse.
The next part of the show was a medley of all thier first songs. They were still dressed as clowns but this time the idea was they were putting on a show and having a good time. The songs were Do what you like, promises, It only takes a minute and Take That and Party. During these songs the band got on unicycles( the things with one wheel) and rode to the Bstage. They included some humour in this segment by leaving Gary Barlow until last and instead of a unicycle they used  a bicycle with stabilisers. This was pretty funny. This part of the show got the whole crowd going because of the dance routines and energy involved. It gave everyone in the hamden stadium me included a big buzz. I felt like i had been on the red bull all day.

After all that fun they gave me an even bigger treat. They played my favourite song called never forget. This is my favourite take that so i was happy. I think i deserved it anyway after the ordeal of clowns. The fact this was my favourite song probably meant it was my favourite part of the night.

The glitz and glamour was back once again for relight my fire. This was another big production of the night there was lots of flames and fancy costumes. It was almost like a pantomime. I enjoyed this too becuase it is another of my favourite songs.

It was then that the encore began. The two songs which were played were hold up a light and rule the world. Im not a big fan of rule the world but i thought it was a good end to a good show. They had stars in the background which were actually quite cute and made me a little sad that the show was over.
Overall i really enjoyed the show and would give it a 10/10. Hopefully there show this year is even better with the return of robbie. I cant wait to see them :) xxx

  1. Do they really need Robbie? You conveyed a great deal of detail in your enjoyment and I wondered if he couuld really add anything extra to that, but they welcome back and obviously do.
I suspect your little favourite Mark will be less in the spotlight now the bad boy is back.
    Very warm appeciation!
