Toy Story

This is a blog about toy story. This has to be my favourite pixar movie of all time. I love all of the toy story films. Although i got bored waiting on Toy Story 3 coming out but i finally saw it in 3D and it was worth the wait :).


The first toy story focuses on the cowboy toy woody and his friends enjoying their life with their owner Andy. Woody then gets jealous when Andy gets a new toy Buzz Lightyear. Buzz doesnt believe he is a toy and thinks he is a real space ranger. Buzz spends much of the movie trying to return to his home planet.The toys then face danger as the next door neighbour Sid tortures toys as he has been kicked out of summer camp. By the end of the film woody and Buzz end up being friends.


Toy story 2 focuses on the character of woody being stolen in a yard sale. The rest of the toys then set out to find woody and save him. In Al's apartment, Woody discovers he is a valuable collectible based on an old, popular TV show called Woody's Roundup, and is set to be sold to a toy museum in Tokyo, Japan. The other toys from the franchise — Jessie the yodeling cowgirl, Woody's horse Bullseye, and Stinky Pete the Prospector, are excited about the trip, but Woody intends to return home because he is still Andy's toy. However Jessie tells a story to woody and he decides to stay. However once the toys find Woody they convince him to come home to Andy. Eventually Woody returns to Andy with the other toys and brings Jessie and Bullsye with him.


Toy story 3 is the latest in the toy stroy collection and focuses on How the toys cope with life now that andy is older. Andy is now seventeen years old and is heading off to college. Andy decides to take Woody with him to college and intends to throw the old toys into the attic. However Andy's mum doesnt realise this and throws these toys away. However they get out and go into the back of the car. They are then given awway to sunnyside daycare. Woody escapes the daycare centre but is found by a little girl who takes him home. it is here that woody hears things about the toys at sunnyside. Worried about his friends he goes back to try and save them.They eventually get free. Andy takes all the toys to the little girl to play with and look after giving them a new home.


Characters

Woody: Woody the cowboy is the main character in all the toy story films. I am not even ashamed to admit he is my favourite character(yes i have favourites). Woody is voiced by Tom Hanks. Woody is an old fashioned cowboy toy who says phrases when his string is pulled such as "there's a snake in my boot","your my favourite deputy" and "reach for the sky". Woody is the leader of the toys in andys room and is Andy's favourite toy. Woody makes strong friendships with Buzz and Jessie.


Buzz Lightyear: Buzz is the other main character in all three films. he is a space ranger and also acts as a leader to the other toys alongside woody. His most famous catchphrase is "to infinity and beyond".Tim Allen voices the character. Buzz is known for his bravery and courage and at first he doesnt get along with Woody but by thend they are best friends and have a strong toy friendship.


Jessie: Jessie the cowgirl is one of the main characters in toy story 2 and 3. Jessie has been abandoned by her former owner and fears being abandoned so gets very exited and happy when she meets woody and they go back to Andys. She is another one of my favourite characters mostly because she is so insecure and i find it quite cute. Jessie is voiced by Joan Cussack. She is very sweet but also very adventurous. She can also be very stubborn. She shares a sibling kind of relationship with Woody and they sometimes argue but also share a very deep bond. Her best friend is bullsye she is always with him and takes care of him.


Basically i love toy story and i love the idea of toys coming to life. when i was younger i would have loved to have been able to have conversations with my toys. its also a good family friendly film which i never get bored of. I even have a toy story easter egg. i cant wait for easter now :) xxx

Mcfly- saturday 26th march :)

This blog will be about the mcfly gig on saturday which i just happened too be at. I just have too say i loved every second of it. Even though i have been slagged off for going too see them. They were worth it.

The whole day was enjoyable. Nothing better than shopping with friends and going too mcfly with them. I even got too go to the disney shop, my favourite shop. But i was banned from buying anything :(. There was a really cool toy story bear which smelt like srawberries but ive asked for christmas :).  The shopping part was fun even though i spent far too much money. I had a great time in Primark and drinks in a pub. It was awesome.

After all that exitement it was time for mcfly :D. Before we went in we decided too get merchandise. I really wanted the mcfly hoodie but it was £50 and there was no way i could afford it not with a holiday too bulgaria on the way but instead i found a really cool mcfly vest top which im now in love with. Still gutted about the hoodie but thier is always the internet :D.

Mcfly came on at 9:00 and from then until about 11 i didnt stop screaming. Thats probably why i lost my voice. The first song was party girl and i loved it mostly because it meaned i could dance around like a nutcase. It was one of the best opening songs to choose because it got everyone jumping around and having fun.



The next song was Nowhere left too run. This continued the new songs from the album. This song was a bit slower but still had every person going crazy in particular the young 6 year old infront of me with her coloured wand. I must say she was cute and i even saw children with mcfly foam guitars. Im 18 and still wanted one. They are so funky.


More songs continued from the new album for the next two songs. If u c kate and Thats the truth probably th slowest songs on the album were played and made the audience more relaxed but still kept the exitement up. They changed the songs slightly so they sounded new but were still the same songs.



After this older songs were played these included Transalvania, Lies, Corrupted and Falling in love. These songs aloud the more older fans too sing along and go down memory lane( do you get it, fans of mcfly will i hope). These songs kept the adreniline going and had everyone screaming and singing along. Lies was probably my favourite from these songs mostly because i have many memories form that one :)
A medley of all about you and obviously were played. These are two of the earliest songs and again got people exited and singing along with them.



Then two more new songs were played these were i need a woman and end of the world. I was really happy because end of the world is my favourite song of the new album so i was pleased. Nearly all the audience kept jumping and singing along throughout. It was now half way through and Mcfly could do know wrong.



A stage was then lowered and reached half way out. It was on this stage that the next songs were performed. Big beach balls were chucked into the audience during smile too tie in with the meaning of the song. Many of the kids their certainly enjoyed that. I was just worried about them hitting my head :). The songs star girl and five colours in her hair were played on the middle stage and during this tshirts were fired into the crowd. I was gutted that i didnt get one :(. Although it did add too the fun of the whole night.



The band then did thier cover song of the night. This was pass out by tinie tempah. This had the whole audience jumping and many were impressed by Danny's rapping since he had never rapped in a mcfly song before. I dont really like this song but did really enjoy the cover of it .


The last song and heart never lies were then played. These songs were much slower but everyone was still singing along. I nearly cried during these songs. they make me sad for some reason. but i didnt cry because i thought i would look really stupid crying at a mcfly gig :).



The last song which was played was shine a light which wasnt really a song i thought they should have ended on even if it was one of thier biggest hits. however i still thought it was amazing and so did most of the crowd.

Overall i really enjoyed the gig and would say it was the best one they have done out of all the 9 mcfly gigs i have been too. i would defienitly give them a 10/10. i cant wait for their next album and tour :D Mcfly Gig 10 here i come :) xxxx

deers get of the road!!

i woke up this morning and was all set too do a blog on the mcfly gig from saturday however this morning on the way too college that idea was interrupted by a deer.

Me, my friend hayley and her mum Catherine were driving along all relaxed listening too the radio and suddenly a deer shot out in front of us. There were two but the other one was sensible and waited either that or saw his friend almost crushed and decided against it.

First of all deers should learn thier green cross code and be safe, im not caring if they are animals who roam free. We have too be safe pedestrians so they should do. It was like a scene from Bambi and not just that but we could have been hurt too. Thankfully a disaster was avoided.

But every cloud has a silver lining and i have now learned some new facts on deers. I have learned that they have hoofs on their feet. I always thought they had hoofs on thier head( those big things that stick out their brain) but those arent hoofs those are antlers. From that i learned that antlers arent just used at christmas time which is what i thought i was wrong.

However deers should still stay of the road. its for cars. aww and deers look like dogs just saying :) xxx

Mighty Boosh

This blog will be about the comedy The Mighty Boosh. The Mighty Boosh is a comedy show featuring two of the top comedians Julian Barett and Noel Fielding. Thje show is shown on BBC three and has had twenty episodes so far. There has also been a radio show and two live tours. The most recent tour took place in 2009/2010 and it was this one that i went too twice. The show was amazing and really funny and i would probably say it was the best show i have been too. The only thing i didnt like was that i came so close too meeting Noel Fielding but just missed out. I was gutted because he is a really great comedian and extremely good looking and one of my favourite celebrities. Aww and his hair is awesome.

Noel fielding met Julian Barret at a show and it was there that they found out they had alot of things in common and decided too form a double act. They performed stage shows together and it was here that they first woriked on the characters for thier show. The show was made into a series in 2004. The first season focuses on the two characters Vince Noir and Howard Moon as zookeepers, however in every episode they go on adventures too different places such as limbo and the artic tundra. They always seem too find themselves in strange situations and this makes the show in my opinion. The random humour which i enjoy comes from this. Season two has a change of setting and instead of being zookeppers the show focuses on the two characters and thier friends living in a flat in Dolsten. However the show again follows the same plot of being in random situations which often involve them being in danger. In season two they include being trapped on a desert island and being kidnapped by a merman called Old Gregg. The third season again follows the same characters but this time they are working as shopkeepers and again go on adventures. These include being transported into The character of Vince's immune system. This episode was the one with the most special effects and is one of my favourites.

My favourite series is season two. I enjoy the stories and the songs of this series. My favourite characters are also in this series. These are Old Gregg, Spider and Rudi. One of the most popular things about the show is the songs which are just as random as the show. The songs are very catchy and it didnt take long for them too get into my head until i sang them all the time.

overall i recommend this show too anyone who enjoys random humour. Its a great show and very enjoyable. this show always cheers me up if im down so yeah you should all give it a go :) xxxxxxxx

Chris Moyles- Longest show ever

The other day in college i was asked to find a video that inspired me, i couldnt think of one. However after listening to, watching and hearing about Chris Moyles and the breakfast team completing the longest show ever which lasted a total of fifty two hours i was and am inspired. I would like too and hope to get into radio and it would be a great achievement to be given the oppurtunity too do that.



I was even more inspired because the show was done to raise money for comic relief. The aim was to beat the world record achieved by Simon Mayo of thirty seven hours in 1999. The record attempt began on wednesday 16th march. During the show it was announced that not only would chris moyles and his radio partner comedy dave try and beat this record they would try and continue on for thier own show which is usually broadcast at half past 6 in the morning. This amazed me because i know if i was them i would have ended it after the 37 hour mark but thats mostly due to the fact i like my sleep. On the 17th march at 7:30 they were joined by simon mayo and it was announced that they had broken the record for 37 hours. It was also announced that they had earned £1,009,033 and they kept going. It was clear they were tired and the strain was showing however they never grew up because the money raised helps those who need it most. On the 18th march at 10:30 they completed thier morning show and had been on air for a record breaking 52 hours non stop. It was also announced that they had earned £2,406,648 for Comic Relief. this has since risen to £2,622,421. This shows that even after completing thier show people kept donating. Now i cant speak for these donaters but i would imagine they are much like me and are inspired and admire the breakafast team. This means that on average they earned around £46,282 every hour.

During this show they were allowed five minute breaks every hour too take a shower and have a power nap. The thought of what they have achieved and not sleeping in three days amazes me and the money is all for a good cause so i guess this is what inspires me: Doing something incredible in order too help those less fortunate :) xxx

Japan blogging

The use of blogging has allowed information to be given to the rest of the world about the Japan disaster.

Since the disaster on Friday many people have blogged about the subject and have uploaded videos, pictures and texts about it. This gives more people information and they find out more from blogging.

The blogs on Japan include live update blogs. These mean that there is an update every thirty minutes on the crisis and what is expected. Whenever there is something to put up it is done through the blog. This shows that the form of blogging has been used to give information too the rest of the world.

This blog gives updates on the aftershocks in the different areas of Japan and how this is affecting these areas. Through this blog there are reports given on blackout warnings for Tokyo.

Another blog is giving a different view asking the question should we be donating to “rich” Japan. This blog gives a different view. It focuses on if people in Japan need the help as they are a wealthy country and it is argued that they should handle a disaster like this.

Another blog I have seen is by CNN and includes live updates on the events in Japan and how people are coping with the aftermath. This is a good blog as it gives information as it happens and keeps the people of the world updated. Another good point off this blog is that it includes videos which also give information.

Blogs such as these show the benefit of blogging. Blogging gives information to a wider audience and video and pictures. Blogs are also very easy to get. Typing in Japan blogs brings up many different blogs. This gives a better chance of finding information and learning more.

Overall blogs are a very helpful and interesting way of learning new information and also giving information.

One tree hill

Today i am going to be talking about a TV show which i love called one tree hill. One tree hill has been running since 2003 and is an american teen drama series which was created by Mark Schwahn. The show is set in a fictional place called tree hill in north carolina. The show focuses on two half brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott and their relationship with each other and their friends and family. The first four seasons focused on the characters during their high school years. From the fifth season too present the show focuses on the characters in thier careers and lives as adults. The show is currently in its 8th season in America and this will be shown later this year in the UK.

The show is based on two brothers being enemies and how their relationship changes due to the people around them. Thier father Dan Scott is the villian of the show and this forms a better relationship between the two brothers. The show deals with many issues and has been critisised for some of the episodes involved. An episode was aired about a school shooting. Many felt offended by this and argued that it was encouraging people too behave that way. However the creator of the show argued that it was being truthful and realistic showing that this can happen and sometimes does happen, He wanted to portray this in a positive way too help people who are suffering from bullying. Episodes also aired of a character being kidnapped by someone pretending too be her brother.

One of the main parts of the show is the music. I believe that without the music the show would not be as succesful. The music helps add too the story and the creators do a good job of finding songs which relate too what has happened in the episode. A song is played at the end of every episode and ties scenes together. The song usually refelcts the story and what has happened. Artists have guest starred on the show. These artists include Sheryl Crow, Fall out boy and Angels and Airwaves.

The characters
Lucas: The character of Lucas is played by Chad Michael Murray. At the beginning of the series he doesnt get along with his Brother Nathan. However they then become friends. His Best friend is Hayley James. The character gets invloved in a love triangle between the characters Brooke and Peyton. However it is peyton who he eventually ends up marrying and having a child with. For most of the series he plays basketball however he also has an interest in Literature. As an adult he becomes a novelist and also coaches his former high schools basketball team. Throughout the show he struggles with a heart condition which risks him playing basketball. Season six was the last season that the character appears in.




Nathan: The character of Nathan is played by James Lafferty. At the beginning he lives with his parents however his relationship with them is very strained. Initially he uses Hayley as a way of getting revenge on Lucas but later he realises his feelings for her. The two of them later marry and live together. They also have a child together called Jamie. Nathan is a professional NBA player in the later series. He almost loses his dream when he gets invlolved in a fight and ends up in a wheelchair.

Peyton: Is played by Hilarie Burton. She played peyton from series 1 - 6. She was Brooke's best friend and had a relationship with Nathan for a few episodes. She has a love for music and art. she often shows her feelings through art and the music she listens too. The character often has bad things which happen too her. she gets shot and also later on gets attacked by someone pretending to be her brother( sounds more complicated than  it is). She later marries lucas and leaves with him to raise thier child. She is probably my favourite character because of  her love of music. This is because i also love music. She runs a record label which i would love too do. it would be awesome.

Brooke: Is played by Sophia Bush. At the beginning she plays the immature teenager who has been neglected by her parents. However she later becomes a better person due too her friendships with Hayley and Peyton. Later on once she has grown up she becomes the owner of a multi million fashion company. Her mother returns and a relationship is formed between the two. In the newest series Brooke marries a character called Julian and loses her company due to forged documents.

Hayley: Is played by Bethany Joy Gaelotti. She plays the best friend of Lucas Scott. She is given credit for making Nathan a better person. She has a passion for music and has enjoyed a succesful music career. She was also a teacher at her former high school however lost her job. She then becomes a music producer and takes over running peytons company.

That is just a look at the main characters. I suggest you watch the programme and would recommend it too anyone :) xxx

McFly- popular or not?

This blog will look at the band McFly and if they are popular or not. There are many reasons in my opinion why they are popular and being a fan myself i thought it would be fun too write a blog on them.
McFly were formed in 2003 and have had five albums too date. When people first heard of them they thought they were just a cheesy pop band who were trying too be like Busted( a huge boy band at the time). However since then Their music has changed quite alot and now has a more dance/rock theme. They have made their own record label super records. They have sold an estimated 8 million singles and are about too go on tour in march of this year.

Thier first album room on the 3rd floor consisted of a pop rock sound. Many of the songs on the album were really poppy and quite cheesy but also the songs were well liked and got into alot of peoples heads. The album reached double platnum. the album broke a record as the band were the youngest band too have a debut album enter the charts in the top position. Due too the sucess of this album they supported busted on tour. Thier were some who were critical suggesting that they wouldnt be succesful.


The band wanted too prove thier critics wrong and released their second album wonderland. The album included a sixty piece orchestra. Due to the success of this album they headlined live 8 in japan with Bjork and Good Charlotte. One of the songs from the album "all about you" was used as the comic relief single. the band then went on their first arena tour named Wonderland. This was later released on DVD. Because the band were becoming more and more popular they were asked too appear in Just my luck, a movie which also featured Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine. In order too promote the movie in America they played several concerts in LA and New York. This gained them more success in America which many music acts find difficult too manage.
                                        

The band's third album was released in 2006 and was entitled Motion in the oceon. The album included a cover of the queen hit Dont stop me now and was the soundtrack for sport relief. The album also included the song "please, please" was the first single released from the album and was the group's fifth number one single showing Mcfly's growing popularity amongst fans in the UK. The song "Friday night" which  also appears on the album was included in the movie night at the museum which was tremendously succesful. Following the release of this album the band went on their second arena tour entitled motion in the oceon. Following this tour they then went on an up close and personal tour which covered twenty four locations not covered by their arena tour giving more fans from locations a chance too witness them live. By this point the critics who had said that the band would not be succesful and wouldnt last had been silenced. People now realised that McFly were more than a cheesy pop band and were a band who were becoming more and more succesful and appealing too more and more people.
                                       

The band then took a break for a couple of years and created their record label super records. During this break the band released a greatest hits album which was a collection of their hits. This was followed by a cover album. This included famous songs which were changed to create a new sound. Both these albums were a success. it was on the band's new record label that they released their fourth album entitled radioactive. This album consisted of a more rocky sound and didnt include much pop. Many fans believed it was a risk but were pleasantly surprised. The album was recorded in Austrailia. This album was again very successful and from this they appeared on Hollyoaks and performed a song from the album. The band then went on tour following the release of this album. The tour was named after thier album. This was their sixth arena tour. They then decided too go too smaller venues once again and named the tour up close and this time its personal. Due to their new sound they recieved more fans and became even mre popular. There was still critisism with many saying that the band should have stuck too what they were good at and were wrong too change thier sound. However i disagree with these critics and believed that thier new sound was even better than before and showed they had grown up.

                           

The band have recently released their fifth album called above the noise. During the recording of this album they collabarated with Taio Cruz. The band went on tour too promote this album before it was released and too give fans a chance too hear the new songs. The album includes a more dance rock sound. the band are due too go on tour next week.

Childrens TV programmes

Hello everyone. Today i am going too be doing a blog on all the childrens TV programmes i used too enjoy. This may also give the readers some memories to. Due too the fact i had a pretty boring life as a child i might have too split this into two or three parts it just means even more too enjoy.

Teletubbies

This was my favourite programme as a child. I loved watching this every weekday. The programme ran from 1997 until 2001. There were many episodes all aimed at young people. My favourite character was LA-LA. Mostly because she was yellow and that was my favourite colour(at the time) and she had a cool orange ball which i wanted too play with all the time. I was even sad enough to have a doll of her which i never wanted to let go off. Something which was even better was the Bean chair i had. i would just sit on that watching teletubbies all the time. I know for a fact it drove my family crazy.

 

Barney

The purple dinosaur yeah!!!!! :). I also loved this show. Barney was so much fun and even though he was a dinosaur he was always friendly. He wasnt my favourite though. My favourite was his friend who was a green girl dinosaur called Baby Bop. Barney conveyed learning through song and dance. I even owned a barney live video. I would watch it when i was ill and it would always cheer me up. My mum knew everyword off by heart. 

 

Darkwing duck 

This programme ran from 1991- 1995 and then 1996-1997. The programme was based on a super hero duck whose alter ego was a single parent called Drake. Darwing duck was about a superhero and his sidekick and pilot launchpad. In his secret identity he lived with his adopted daughter. the programme was a spinoff of ducktales.

Doug

Doug is an american cartoon. the series takes place in the fictional town of Bluffington where doug funnie moves with his family and the show deals with his life. Doug is known for being shy and often clumsy. Doug is a banjo player. he also has a green skinned rival called Roger Klotz. Doug is known for having a crush on Patricia Mayonaise who has orange skin. The best thing about the programme doug in my opinion is his dog porkchop. I love the name and would be quite tempted too call my dog that.

Rugrats

This series premiered on august 11th 1991 and its last episode aired on june 8th 2004. The show is based on eight babies and thier everyday lives which turn into adventures in the childrens minds. Rugrats is known for being the longest running nicktoon. My favourite character had too be Chuckie. I loved his ginger hair and little glasses. he was a wee cutie. He was well known for being the reluctant one. he was always wanting too be safe. The leader of the group was Tommy Pickle. He was the brave member of the group. my least favourite character was Anjelica. Mostly because she was really mean too chuckie. They even have a star on the walk of fame. I didnt even know this and was really surprised but also very happy for some reason.

The reason i believe these shows appealed is because they are fun and lighthearted. Children like shows which they can relate too. Cartoons do these very well and have characters which children can enjoy and feel close too.
